The Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce hosted its June Networking Luncheon at Andiamo in Warren, welcoming members and special guests for an afternoon of business connection, updates, and community engagement. The event featured Angela Rogensues, At-Large City Councilwoman for the City of Warren, as the keynote speaker. Angela shared key updates on major city developments, including infrastructure investments, housing programs, and public safety enhancements.

 

Councilmember Rogensues highlighted several new and ongoing city initiatives, including the construction of a massive detention basin, Michigan’s second “Drone as First Responder” program through the Warren Police Department, and two new fire stations featuring state-of-the-art amenities. She also shared details on Warren’s plans for a new 45,000 sq. ft. skate park—expected to be the largest in the state—as well as the city’s Arsenal Alliance partnership with Sterling Heights to grow and support the defense industry. Additional highlights included efforts to improve walkability, expand housing access through the land bank authority, and revitalization efforts supported by a revised cannabis ordinance and updates to Warren’s wastewater systems.

 

The luncheon also served as an opportunity to spotlight the SMCC’s charitable giving and ongoing commitment to community support. SMCC proudly disbursed $1,000 to the Martha T. Berry Foundation during the event. Additional major contributions included $5,000 from Wound Biologics to MCREST, as well as three $5,000 grants from the Warren Community Foundation—funded by proceeds from Cruisin’ 53—benefiting the Warren Housing Commission, UAW Region 1 Veterans, and the Warren Police and Fire Benevolent Fund. With strong attendance, generous contributions, and valuable insights from local leadership, the event reaffirmed SMCC’s mission to connect business, government, and community for the betterment of the region. Members left the event informed, inspired, and energized for the road ahead.
