The Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrated the groundbreaking of EmpowerHome, a bold new housing initiative from member business Baker & Associates Realty Group. Hosted by the Chamber, the event marked the official launch of this innovative project in Warren, Michigan, aimed at increasing access to affordable housing while empowering residents with essential education and support services. Community leaders, business partners, and local stakeholders gathered to commemorate the start of a development that represents far more than bricks and mortar—it represents opportunity, stability, and economic advancement for those who need it most.

EmpowerHome is a collaborative effort between Baker & Associates and the Empowerment and Development Housing Resource Center (EDHRC), a nonprofit founded in 2018 by Detroit native Faye Baker. EDHRC was built with a mission to combat neighborhood blight through financial literacy, homebuyer education, and community development. Through this project, EmpowerHome residents will benefit not only from affordable, high-quality housing, but also from the tools and guidance necessary to build wealth and stability through homeownership.

The Chamber is honored to stand alongside Baker & Associates in launching this purpose-driven endeavor. By celebrating and supporting projects like EmpowerHome, the Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce continues its commitment to meaningful community impact and economic empowerment throughout the region.
