The Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce’s October Luncheon, held at Zuccaro's in Chesterfield, was a lively and impactful gathering, celebrating the Chamber’s ongoing contributions to the region and highlighting critical topics ahead of the November 5 election. During the luncheon, the Chamber proudly presented checks to several organizations, including the Chesterfield Police Benevolent Fund, Chesterfield Fire Department Equipment Fund, Chesterfield Parks and Recreation, and the Chesterfield Library Building Fund. These contributions demonstrate SMCC’s steadfast dedication to enhancing local services and fostering strong partnerships across Southeast Michigan.
A major highlight of the afternoon was the keynote speech by Anthony Forlini, Macomb County Clerk, who captivated the audience with his insights on election integrity. Forlini detailed the extensive efforts of his office to ensure secure and transparent elections, including advanced auditing practices, voter education programs, and streamlined election processes. With the upcoming November election on everyone’s minds, his presentation provided both reassurance and a deeper understanding of the work behind maintaining trust in the electoral system.
Adding to the excitement, SMCC CEO John Johnson made his much-anticipated predictions for the outcomes of the November elections. Johnson shared his picks for winners at every level, from the presidential and congressional races to local county and municipality elections, sparking lively discussions among attendees. The luncheon concluded with reminders of upcoming events, including the Women’s Business Alliance Networking Night and the Neway Works Gala.
